Jean Gibson was born in Stoke-on-Trent and studied at Wimbledon School of Art and the Royal College of Art. A member of the London Group, she exhibited regularly from the 60’s until her death in 1991.

Gibson is represented in the Woman’s Art Collection along with works by leading international artists including Paula Rego, Maggi Hambling, Lubaina Himid and Judy Chicago.
